A couple weekends ago we went up to the Indiana Dunes to go to the beach. We have no idea why but for some reason we wanted to take Rocky along. It's really hard to go to the beach with a dog, it's possible, but not easy.
I looked online beforehand which beaches allow dogs, mapped it all out and went on our way. So we went to the first beach, a whole 30 or so parking spots for the entire beach, very effective... Plus there were people waiting in their cars for spots, so we left. As we were leaving there were cars parked on the side of the road near the beach (i didn't see one sign saying there was no parking) and there was a cop there ticketing people. We stopped and asked him if that was all the parking and we got short one words answers. Is this all the parking for the beach "yup" so there isn't anywhere else around here to park "nope" very friendly. Then he says "and all these people parked on the road are getting tickets, and if they['re here for more then a couple of hours we're going to tow them" How nice to go to the beach, park where they aren't any no parking signs, come out and find your car gone...
Ok, onward through the dar. Next beach, like 20 spots. so we go to the state park and it is packed. We have to go all the way down on the very far end, and then if you're too far out in the water the yell at you. So we set up the stuff and took rocky in the water. it was alright, but probably won't be going back there again, nothing like south haven or grand haven.
OH and all the other people with their dogs, i hate them. like the people that decided to set up right next to us with their 2 dogs, as rocky barks at them, when there is a whole freakin beach. then their stupid kids continue to run back and forth to the water with the dogs, letting go of their leashes and letting them run all over the place.

hot dog!
