Well, winter has hit us full force. After the holiday weekend, we had decided to leave at a good time and while packing got a call from Nick, he left about an hour before, and how we need to get a move in because a storm was coming and they were in it.
So, on the way home we drove through 2 blizzards, and then a nice hour and a half or so of fog in the snowy Indiana. It was so weird to see it like that since 4 days before it was bright, sunny, and green (and brown), and then coming back it was all white or we could barely see it through the fog. 2 very different perspectives.
I finally got my hair cut and most of it is gone. Thank god. It was way too long, i looked like an idiot.
Discovered an amazing beer when in frankenmuth. When we were at the black forest brewery, they had a hefeweizen listed, one of my favorites. I though it was odd since it was out of season, well i was right, they were out. So as i scanned the list i came across "Wally's Weizenbock" (names after the later Wally from Bronner's). Let's do the math.
Weizen = good
bock = good
9.2% alcohol content = awesome
put it all together
(weizen + bock ) x homemade brewery chips = Happy
( josh )
so needless to say it was a fantastic beer, and a growler full of it followed me home. I think Nick was kicking himself that he didn't bring along his growler for a fill. I should have brought 2. Can't wait to enjoy it (wish i had some people to share it with...). But as soon as it gets empty i think i shall fill it up with some homemade beer to bring home with me for the holidays. I gotta see what mix I have left.
Back, to the main part of the post. Winter is here like crazy. I don't see the whole thing with global warming (this is where Christina starts to yell how global warming is real over my rant, even though i'm joking, sort of) is happening, since it seems like the winters are starting earlier and are colder. When we moved here everyone said it was mild. It is December 1st, the rods are covered in ice, and i saw a lot of emergency vehicles out. Doesn't sound mild.
I've been having a revelation though, and it started mostly last winter, since it was my first down here, and i know this winter will continue the trend. I love winter. Everyone knows that. HOWEVER, if you can't do anything fun out in the winter, or don't have anyone to do fn things out in the snow with, winter sucks. No snowboarding took its toll on me last year. Hopefully this year i can at least once.
