Beach Day

A couple weekends ago Christina and I decided to head up to the Indiana Dunes. We decided to not take Rocky this time like we did before becaus enot only was he so stressful last time but we are only allowed on a small amount of beaches with him.

So we packed up the car earlier on saturday and I think we left by 8:30 in the morning. It is about 2 hours to get up there, but luckily we also pass into the Central time zone, so we gain an hour, which is to our advantage. We tried for one of the smaller beaches first. Last time there was no parking anywhere and we ended up at the super busy State Park. This time we lucked out though and scored the very last parking spot. That isn't saying much though because for the smaller beaches there are only like 30-40 parking spots... But it was well worth it, because there are hardly any spots the beach is fairly empty. No one really around us, very relaxing.

I brought my new pop up beach cabana with us, which was awesome, and my sand shapers. This was the first chance I got to use them and they are amazing. So easy to use and we made an entire "Mars Colony" of sand domes. Somebody smashed them as we took a nap though.

We had some fun with a bubble wand and unfortunately there wasn't really enough room for me to fly my kite. The beach is pretty skinny in this area. Next time we will hopefully check out Mt Baldy which is the largest moving sand dune on the national lakeshore, and it literally moves a few feet every year. It is overtaking an entire forest. All depends on how the parking goes.

Glad I did a practice run at home first, otherwise it would have been really confusing.

Sand shapers!!

So easy to use

Awesome photo of christina and the bubble wand. This one one where she wasn't blowing it directly into other people...
